Traditional car dealerships have basically been operated the exact same way for the past 100 years. The entire business model of a traditional auto dealership is one we ALLLL know and have been apart of, that model is to; buy low & sell high!
So if we think about that concept right now and imagine ourselves at a dealership, and let’s pretend we’re about to trade-in our vehicle for another vehicle (new or used, doesn’t matter)
From the dealerships perspective, they’re goal is to pay you as little as possible because the employees at the dealership are paid off profit, so the less they give you for your trade-in, the more money they can make when they sell it again to someone else.
The same is true with the vehicle you are buying, from the dealers perspective they want to keep the price as high as possible because this is how the employees are paid and how the employees feed their families. This creates a LOSE-WIN-LOSE scenario, and we all know who the losers are…
My question to you is, why do you still go to traditional dealerships to buy, sell, or trade-in your vehicle when EVERYBODY knows their incentive is to take as much money from you as they can?
Most people end up choosing dealerships because the other option is buying or selling private, and that can be risky, time consuming and downright annoying!
